12 - 22 Mar: British Virgin Islands - Santiago, Cuba, glorious cruising
From the beautiful BVIs, this will be a 700nm downwind passage south of Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic to Santiago in southern Cuba.
This itinerary for this cruise is flexible with the option for some short and longer passages.
BVIs: These beautiful islands are much loved by many and we start our cruise with the possibility of a couple of short hops to explore favourite anchorages before we set sail for Puerto Rico.
Puerto Rico: our sail from the BVIs is to the south coast of Puerto Rico. An overnight passage of some 120nm will bring us to one of the anchorages which dot this coastline. There are several beautiful islands off this coast.
Dominican Republic: we continue our easterly downwind passage from Puerto Rico with another overnight sail to the south coast of the Dominican Republic, which offers protected anchorages and harbours, ranging from Isla Saona at the far eastern end of the island to Punta Deata in the west.
